Teamwork: Rebuilding Lives and Rebuilding Homes

Thank You, Volunteers!

Volunteers are the heart of the Louisiana United Methodist Disaster Response ministry. Since our beginning, volunteer labor saved the ministry millions of dollars for the purchase of materials.  By the giving of their time and talents, volunteers blessed the lives of those affected by disasters. At the end of the mission trip, volunteers left with blessings of their own knowing their time and spirit truly made a difference by restoring not only homes but hope. As a result, many volunteers made numerous return trips to help with recovery often inquiring about the homeowners they met on previous trips.

Since 2005, the Louisiana United Methodist Disaster Response ministry hosted more than 92,742 volunteers providing more than 4 million hours of labor for a combined value of more than $83.4 million.

The people of Louisiana and the United Methodist Church want to say to all the people who have demonstrated generosity and compassion…

“Thank you – we could not have done it without you”
